“ Love the food here. Always a nice place to eat. Great selection of seafood. Love the crab legs. ”
“ Love their crab legs and the hush puppies!!! We have had great service every time we've eaten at the Captain's Galley plus you get a good portion of food. ”
“ Outstanding service and the food is the best in Dandridge. My husband and I eat there a couple of times a month. Love it. ”
“ Old school, (mostly) fried, seafood restaurant with its own parking lot, set back off the road. The entrance is a bit rough looking, but the dining room is quite nice, with lots of wood panelling and nautical themed decor. Reasonable prices (mostly under $20) including a discounted lunch menu, and a discounted, seniors (55+) menu. The staff were helpful and friendly, even though it was our first time there. The place was about half-full on a Friday lunchtime. Food is largely what you would expect fried seafood to be. First up is complimentary hush puppies instead of bread. There is salt, pepper, ketchup, tartar sauce, horseradish/ketchup cocktail sauce, and cartons of margarine spread on the table. Malt vinegar was provided upon request. I had the senior menu, two choices meal, with fried, breaded Haddock and Fried Oysters, which came with Coleslaw, and my choice of one side (French Fries). The (frozen) haddock was, I guess, okay (like supermarket frozen, breaded fish), but the fried oysters were *very* small (about the size of a quarter !), and there were only about 5 or 6 of them. The french fries are apparently new and improved per the waitress, and they have that crispy coating on them; I quite like them. My wife had the senior menu, two choices meal, with Clam Strips and Fried Oysters. Both were okay but she got more of the small fried oysters than I did. Her's also came with Coleslaw and her choice of one side (fried onion rings was her choice). All of it was "okay". Cost was $14 each, plus $3 each for the (free refills) Pepsi products drinks or iced tea. There is NO beer or wine available, unfortunately. The (almost certainly all frozen) food, certainly ain't as good or as fresh as Chesapeake's, but then again, it costs a lot less than Chesapeake's food costs, so... All in all, it IS a decent fried seafood meal for what it is, so long as you don't expect too much. ”
“ Good food at reasonable prices. Their senior menu is perfect for us. The hushpuppies are delicious. ”
“ 40 exit 417 Captain's Galley - Dandridge TN As we return from Hilton Head to our selected lodging at Fairfield Inn, we observed that road delays on I-26 and 1-40 have pushed us into Knoxville prime dining hours. There is a steakhouse and seafood house steps away from Fairfield Inn, and both provide average fare. We elect to try 40 exit 417 Captain's Gallery (Dandridge TN) for a Captain's Platter; Jesus (Easter Saturday) is our skilled and accomplished server at this 25 year old restaurant. The restaurant is filling for the dinner hour. Very attractive restaurant, and following a long holiday in Hilton Head, the seafood is not Hilton Head quality, but is fine. Restaurant is nicely decorated, and well-staffed. Jesus observes that many diners are local, and I would have guessed this to be true. Note to self: there may be several possible restaurants at exit 417, and perhaps better to exit at 417 rather than take chances in Knoxville. ”
